I'm sure you know that our Louisiana State Penitentiary is/and has been forever known as "Angola."
"Sweaty armpit of Africa" is probably what the good folks had in mind when they named the town, and what the Louisiana Legislature had in mind when they established the p-farm there back about a bazillion years ago.
Man, I think I might rather spend a life sentence on the Green Mile in Angola, LA, than being a "free man" in Affirkuh.
