I'm just making the best of the last of the garden goodies...

Ingredients:
One large Green Bell Pepper
2 cloves of garlic
One large yellow onion
8 tomatos skinned and cored.
2 limes for lime juice
A pinch of cilantro and basil
A shitload of assorted red and green chilli peppers

(Yes I'm using shitload as a standard unit of measurment...)

Chop, boil and can...

Only step two on the jars....

A special thankyou to Mike and Nancy for the red peppers!!!

How to boil an egg

I haven't posted a recipe in a while... I think the last one was German Pigs in a blanket....

Mmmmmm.... Maybe I need to just get back to basics... I've started looking over a few culinary web sites and blogs and then I found this.

Dear God she's fascinating!!! I use salt as a seasoning, but she uses it make the water boil faster... I'm not up to date on my thermodynamics regarding salt making water boil faster so I'll just believe it to save time...

...besides, on hot days, you go to the beach... there's salt water at the beach... the logic is indisputable.

Well then, I need to do a few hours of exhaustive research on this woman...

German Pigs in a Blanket

If you're completely unconcerned about your heart, you might like this.

German Pigs in a Blanket:
Prepare the sausage first…
I use sweet Italian sausage.
Coat in egg wash. (Olive oil works in a pinch)
Roll in flour.
Fry until done with a tablespoon of olive oil. Make sure it has a brown crust.
Set aside.
German Pancakes:
I make these somewhat smaller than the usual plate size for this.
Thin slice half an onion and fry on a hot flame in two tablespoons of olive oil.
Remove onion from skillet after browning.
Keep skillet hot.
Mix one cup of flour, one jumbo egg, (or two small) and milk until you have a thin batter. (Maybe two and a half to three cups of milk)
Pour enough batter into the skillet to cover the center of the pan.
Add some prepared onions to top. (Minced garlic is nice too…)
Wait for center to bubble up and flip.
Remove and wrap around sausage.
Serve.

Meatloaf... hmmmm.... ummmmm.

I was messing around in the kitchen and I think I struck gold... or at least a decent meatloaf.

2 lbs. ground beef.
1 tablespoon soy sauce.
1 pinch of minced garlic.
1/3 cup of ranch dressing.
1 cup of chopped onions.
1 cup of chicken broth.
1/4 cup of romano cheese.
1 egg.
Mix
now add:
2 cups of croutons. (I use home made... )
mix and place in choice of pans.

cover with precooked bacon.

Bake... time depends on what type of pan is used...

Heart attack jokes are welcome. ;)
